return false;\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><span id=\"links4-toggle-445\">\u2192 Beschreibung<\/span><\/a><\/div><div id=\"links4-content-445\" class=\"sh-content links4-content sh-hide\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>DE<\/strong> Das Parkhotel Hall \u2013 vormals Hotel Seeber (1931) gilt als eines der wichtigsten Bauten von Lois Welzenbacher, dessen Werke zum gr\u00f6\u00dften Teil im Krieg bzw. durch Abbruch oder r\u00fccksichtslosen Umbau unwiederbringlich zerst\u00f6rt wurden. So erging es auch dem Hotel in Hall, das im Laufe der Zeit v\u00f6llig entstellt wurde. Das Hotel Seeber stand kurz vor dem Abbruch. Eine Initiative junger Architekten*, verbunden mit dem Engagement einiger wichtiger Experten der \u00f6sterreichischen Architekturszene konnte die Stadt Hall letztlich vom architektonischen Wert des Hotels \u00fcberzeugen. Infolge wurde ein Wettbewerb mit einer sehr komplexen Aufgabenstellung ausgeschrieben. Das Hotel sollte einerseits rekonstruiert und andererseits unter Einbeziehung des denkmalgesch\u00fctzten Kurhauses (aus 1930) zu einem Seminar- und Wellnesshotel der 4-Sterne-Kategorie gro\u00dfz\u00fcgig erweitert werden.<br \/>\nBeim Wettbewerb haben wir uns aus st\u00e4dtebaulichen Gr\u00fcnden bei der Erweiterung f\u00fcr eine komprimierte Turml\u00f6sung entschieden, um m\u00f6glichst viel Gr\u00fcnraum im \u00f6ffentlichen Park am Rande der historischen Altstadt zu erhalten. F\u00fcr uns war es ein riskantes Unterfangen \u2013 es war naheliegend, dass der neue Turm eine Konkurrenz zum alten sein k\u00f6nnte.<br \/>\nWir glauben aber, dass wir durch \u00e4ussere Gestaltung eher DISTANZ trotz r\u00e4umlicher N\u00e4he schaffen und uns somit der unmittelbaren Konkurrenz zum Welzenbacher Turm entziehen. So ist unsere L\u00f6sung als Antwort auf den Welzenbacher Turm zu sehen. Es geht uns eher um einen Dialog, um ein ausgewogenes Nebeneinander, wo sich jedes Haus eigenst\u00e4ndig als Dokument seiner Zeit positioniert.<br \/>\nSo steht der kreisf\u00f6rmige Konus neben dem nahezu quadratischen Prisma.<br \/>\nWelzenbachers bauplastisch feingliedrig durchgebildeten Bauk\u00f6rper steht ein transparenter, skelettartig aufgel\u00f6ster Bauk\u00f6rper gegen\u00fcber. Beim Welzenbacher Turm ist der Massstab und die Geschossigkeit durch die pr\u00e4gnanten Balkonplatten klar ablesbar. Der neue Turm ist durch die vertikale Addition der Sonnenschutzlamellen nur mehr als abstrakte Gesamtform wahrnehmbar. Der Turm entzieht sich der architektonischen Konkurrenz durch die Aufl\u00f6sung der Tektonik ins objekthafte.<br \/>\nEine besondere Herausforderung gestaltete sich in der Rekonstruktion des alten Hotels mit all seinen sensiblen Details. Neben der funktionalen Neuorganisation und Sanierung der statischen und thermischen Probleme ging es uns prim\u00e4r darum, ein wenig vom urspr\u00fcnglichen Geist \u2013 der besonderen Aura des Hauses \u2013 sp\u00fcrbar zu machen.<br \/>\n* \u201cLois Welzenbacher \u2013 eine Chance f\u00fcr Hall\u201d Mag.arch. Bruno Sandbichler, DI Feria Gharakhanzadeh, DI Inge Andritz<br \/>\nhenke und schreieck architekten, November 2004<\/p>\n<p><strong>EN<\/strong> The Park Hotel, Hall in Tyrol, originally the \u201cTowerhotel Seeber\u201d is one of the most important works of Lois Welzenbacher, a pioneer of modern architecture in Austria who, through his participation in the exhibition \u201cThe International Style since 1922\u201d ( Museum of Modern Art, NY ) , was also recognised outside the borders of his own country.<br \/>\nMost of his works were either destroyed in the war or irreparably damaged through demolition or inappropriate conversion. This was also the fate of the hotel in Hall, which, in the course of time had been completely disfigured. The original free standing situation and the characteristic architectural vocabulary were no longer visible. The dynamism, described by Friedrich Achleitner, \u201cThe vertical articulation of the building is accentuated in a fascinating way by the position and form of the cantilevered balconies, which generate a spiral motion\u201d was lost.<br \/>\nThe hotel would have been demolished if a petition organised by young architects had not convinced the city of Hall of the buildings historical value. Instead the city organised a competition with an unusually complex brief. The hotel was not only to be reconstructed, but also, through the incorporation of the adjoining historically protected \u201cKurhaus\u201d (1930) extended to a four-star \u201cseminar and wellness\u201d hotel.<br \/>\nIn our design for the extension of the hotel we decided, for urbanistic reasons, on a compact tower solution which would preserve as much as possible of the existing park at the edge of the old-town. The decision was however not easy since we were well aware of the risk that a new tower could compete with the old building. We believe, however, that the new building, despite its spatial proximity to the Welzenbacher tower, distances itself through its external handling.<br \/>\nOur solution can be seen as an answer to the Welzenbacher tower, representing a dialogue, a balanced duality in which each building positions itself as a product of its time.<br \/>\nThe circular funnel stands next to the rectangular prism.<br \/>\nA transparent, skeletal and dematerialised volume responds to the detailed volumetric articulation of the original building.<br \/>\nIn the Welzenbacher tower, the scale and the storey heights are clearly visible, accentuated through the cantilevered balconies. The new tower, through the vertical aggregation of the solar fins, is perceived as an abstract form.<br \/>\nThe new tower avoids architectural rivalry through the dematerialisation of the tectonic in favour of pure, scaleless form.<br \/>\nThe reconstruction of the Welzenbacher hotel, with its many sensitive details, represented a particular challenge.
