Kainzgasse wird durch zwei getrennte orthogonal aufeinanderstehende, ma\u00dfst\u00e4blich differenzierte Bauk\u00f6rper mit jeweils unterschiedlicher Wohntypologie geschlossen.<br \/>\nAn der Nahtstelle der beiden Bauteile wird man \u00fcber eine Stufenrampe in das Haus gef\u00fchrt. Vom freistehenden Treppenturm als Gelenkpunkt der Erschlie\u00dfung sind \u00fcber offene Laubeng\u00e4nge die Gescho\u00dfwohnungen und \u00fcber Br\u00fccken vom begr\u00fcnten Innenhof bzw. einen frei vor die Fassade gestellten Steg die Maisonettenwohnungen zug\u00e4nglich.<br \/>\nAllen Wohnungen gemeinsam sind stra\u00dfen- und hofseitige Orientierung, durchgehende Blickachsen, raumhohe T\u00fcren, flexible Grundrisse durch Schiebew\u00e4nde, flie\u00dfende \u00dcberg\u00e4nge von Innen- und Au\u00dfenraum, Freibereiche in Form von Loggien, Terrassen und Balkonen.<br \/>\nMittels beweglicher Schiebeelemente und Sonnenschutzlamellen k\u00f6nnen die Bewohner trotz weitgehender Verglasung aller Au\u00dfenw\u00e4nde den Grad Ihrer Privatheit selbst regulieren &#8211; von v\u00f6lliger Offenheit bis zur g\u00e4nzlichen Abkapselung.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EN<\/strong> The project is comprised of two wings at both sides of this corner lot: one southern wing, whose maisonettes echo the rhythm of the facades of the adjoining old buildings, and one western wing with one-level flats and shops facing the open field of a soccer ground. The external main stair forms the junction between the two building on the corner. The flats are accessed on hte courtyard side over open walkways. Small connecting bridges articulate the threshold to each individual unit.<br \/>\nThe conception of the flats was generated by the following parameters:<br \/>\nAll flat types enjoy dual orientation with continuous visual connections between street and internal court. The flats feature room-high doors, flexible plans through the use of sliding wall elements and fluid connections between internal rooms and a variety of associated external spaces such as loggias, terrasses and balconies.
